"Reservations for field use will start on March 10, 2012"
This page is used exclusively prior to the start of our Spring seasons. It is intended to track field usage so that each team can have a Merillon field to practice on. Once the season starts practices are on a first come first serve basis, with games taking precedence over any practices. Below you will find a list of fields to be used at Merillon along with the team names assigned to each field. Time slots that are blank or do not have a “X” are available upon request. Requests are to be made via email to Joe Renta at (jcbk1990@aol.com) and will be assigned according to date and time of receipt of such an email request starting March 10th.
Please be fair when utilizing the playing fields. If you are currently running outfield drills please allow another team to utilize the infield for drills. Also, please be aware that some of our Senior teams must use Field #3 and therefore will have to use part of Field #1 as an outfield. Please work with these Senior teams because this is the only field at Merillon Park that they can use with 90' bases.
Remember that if you hold a practice at 4:00pm and there is a game on the field scheduled to start at 6:00pm please be off the field by 5:15pm.The teams utilizing the fields for games are entitled to a pristine field no later than 5:30pm.
Also, if the fields have been lined and raked prior to you arriving,
Stay Off The Field, it has already been set up for a game!
Practice Log 2012
The purpose of the log below is to give teams the opportunity to utilize Merillon Park for team practices prior to the season starting, March 31th, 2012 (Weather permitting). Actual field practices will begin on Saturday, March 17th.
We attempt to give everyone equal time to work with their teams without the problem of showing up at Merillon and finding no available room. If you do not reserve time as allotted below please do not show up with your team to practice at Merillon. All teams that have not reserve time at Merillon Park will be asked to leave the field. Please be fair to those teams that are following the rules.
Also, if it is raining please check the Rain Hotline (516-354-0109) to see if the fields are available for practices. Sometimes on the day after a heavy downpour it may be deemed necessary to keep off the fields until they have completely dried to avoid damaging them.
( Please Note: Some Managers have two teams one in each of the Boys and Girls Division)
